the positiveword
link to read.thepositiveword.com
Please feel free to link to this site.  Click here for the link builder.  To display specific passages, there are two ways to access the bible pages:
  1. Quote page - just contains the required passage, with a button to study the passage on the main page, and optionally a button to either go back to the referring page or close the window: http://read.thepositiveword.com/quote.php?[values..]
  2. Main page - the main study page (index page) of the site - includes references, word definitions, history, search, daily readings, etc: http://read.thepositiveword.com/index.php?[values..]
Below are descriptions of how to manually create links to the Main and the Quote pages. If you need any further help with this then send us click here to ask a question.

Main Page
The following parameters can be sent to the main page:

strongsnumber - Strongs number to look up, eg 1849
strongs - either 'greek' or 'hebrew' depending on which dictionary is to be used

Example 2: Link to Proverbs 14 from the KJV with Strongs numbers and Footnotes

Example 3: Link to Luke 6:47-49 from the KJV with Strongs numbers and display Greek definition of 3056

Quote Page
The following parameters can be sent to the quote page:
ref - reference, eg 'Isaiah 38:18-19', this will take precedence over the portion value.
ver - bible version to be used (as per the drop down lists on the site), eg 'WEB'.  Please note this is case sensitive.
portion - the portion of the daily readings for today to display, eg 1, 2 or 3.
close - if set with the value of 'back' will display a 'back' button instead of a 'close' button.  If set with the value of 'none' no 'back' or 'close' button will be displayed.  A 'back' button goes back to the page that linked to this page - useful if you link to the quote page in the same window.  A 'close' button closes the window the quote page is displayed in (the assumption is that the page was opened in a new window).

Example 1: Link to Isaiah 38:18-19 from the WEB in a new window ('close' button)
<a target="_blank" href="http://read.thepositiveword.com/quote.php?ref=Isaiah 38:18-19&ver=WEB">Isaiah 38:18-19</a>

Example 2: Link to Proverbs 14 from the KJV in the same window ('back' button)
<a href="http://read.thepositiveword.com/quote.php?ref=Proverbs 14&ver=KJV&close=back">Proverbs 14</a>

Example 3: Link to the second portion of today's readings with no 'close' or 'back button
<a href="http://read.thepositiveword.com/quote.php?portion=2&close=none">Second Portion</a>
